Cant get the 59hz option for modes in display settings. anyone can help?

i was successfully using Hdmi to connect my laptop to tv. Suddenly it was not working and tried to see the display setting, and in the modes i couldnt get the 59 Hertz option (only the 60 hz). Then i tried to plug again the Hdmi on my laptop, and my laptop is turned off!! Does anyone know how to restore the 59 Hertz in the options of modes in the adaptor in the display settings? Pls help
