Would it be cheaper to fly out to Iowa from California in the first week of June or to drive out in a car?

We would be renting a car from Enterprise or Hertz and drive in a small, coach-like car. So it would not cost a lot for gas, but I don't know how much gas would cost compared to that of just buying a plane ticket
