Is it worth it to get AAA when renting a car?

I will be renting a car for a month-long trip. I like the idea of AAA because of all the discounts (including towards the rental car), plus they seem to be pretty reliable. However, the car rental company (Hertz) offers free roadside assistance. But are there hidden charges like making you pay for fuel delivery or towing your car? Would that option be as reliable as AAA?
